Interactive Resources:
1. Web 2.0
If you've ever heard the term Web 2.0 tools and haven't been sure what they are then this is a great resource for you. This resource provides a presentation of Web 2.0 tools. It gives an overview and some examples you can use in your classroom.
2. PBS Kids
This website is affiliated with PBS and has a ton of interactive reading games. These are geared more for younger grades (PreK-3). There are games that help students work on comprehension and vocabulary. Some of the games require audio, while others do not. This makes it nice if you use it as a center and are out of headphones.
3. Fun Brain
This website has resources many subjects. For reading there are book previews they can read and there are also short stories they can read. There are also a plethora of reading games ranging from vocabulary and spelling to comprehension and grammar. There are a lot of games for younger students, but many of the games would probably be good reinforcement or practice for intermediate and middle grades.
4. Free Rice
This is great for many subjects. From the reading aspect, there are vocabulary and grammar practice. This is a fun activity and not only are students learning, but for every answer they get correct 10 grains of rice get donated to the World Food Program. Students can see the rice in there bowl grow as they get more answers correct. There are 60 levels that they can reach.
5. Spelling City
This resource has two versions. There is a free version that offers activities and games, but there is also a premium version that can be bought, which includes more games and activities and other options for teachers. The free version is great and allows students to practice their spelling with studying and taking practice tests right on the site.
