This resource is a link to a Reading Rockets article on using digital media to enhance literacy instruction. There are examples of what other teachers have done to implement technology and ideas that you can borrow! It also explains how to implement technology and media in your classroom and how you can help students with this transition.

2. Using Technology in the Classroom
This resource gives 12 ways teachers can implement technology in their classroom. It is very user friendly and if you are a bit nervous about using technology, don't worry because this website gives 12 very simple uses of technology. It gives plenty of ideas which you can then research more about if they seem fitting in your classroom.

3. Teaching Tips
This is an article by Donalyn Miller, better known as "The Book Whisperer." She is passionate about reading and gives tips on how to help your students become "Wild Readers." The article discusses tips on how to get your students motivated and wanting to read.

4. Motivating Teenage Boys to Read
Many teachers struggle to get boys to read, especially teenage boys. This article discusses how many boys come off as unmotivated readers. It also gives tips on how to motivate teenage boys to read and how to keep them interested.

5. Effective Elements of Literacy Instruction
This is an article that gives six effective elements for elementary literacy instruction. These six elements are time, teach, talk tasks, tests, and texts. It describes each of them and how teachers can use them for literacy instruction.

6. Practices for Reading Motivation
This is an article that discusses reading motivation. We all know that motivation is a key aspect in getting students to enjoy reading. The article gives ideas on how you can motivate your students and also the different types of motivation that these ideas stem from.

7. Six Elements of Reading Instruction
This is an article from ASCD and discusses the six elements of every child related to reading. There are elements listed and then described. These elements are what research says every child should experience every day during reading instruction.

8.Engaging Adolescent Readers
This is an audio podcast about reading engagement and motivation for adolescent readers. The podcast is only eleven minutes and gives a lot of information within it.  Two reading researchers discuss how teachers can implement classroom practices to make for better engagement in reading.

9. Independent Reading That Works
This is another article from Reading Rockets. The article discusses making the most of independent reading time. As teachers, we know students need to be given time to read independently during school and this article gives tips on how to make this time most effective.

10. Literacy in Content Areas
This is a podcast by a teacher and literacy coach about literacy in content areas. You can listen to the conversation or read the transcript. It is geared toward high school teachers and helping student's reading and writing skills.
